130 Years of Steel Making 1896 – 2026
Friday 9th October 2026 from 7.00pm at the ex Shotton Steelworks Sports and Social Club, Rowley’s Drive, Shotton, CH5 1PY
This will be an opportunity for an informal reunion and coming together of engineers, ex apprentices, ex-trainees, craftsmen, support staff and personnel who worked in or were associated with engineering department across the works.
John Summers and Sons, British Steel, Corus and present day owners, TATA Steel. 2026 is the 130th Anniversary of iron and steel processing operations at the Shotton Site which commenced in 1896.
A selection of photographs will be on display showing the development of the works over the decades, including those of past apprentices and other engineering personnel. There will be a bar and drinks facilities available on the night.
