Get Involved
Would you like to get involved?
There’s always something going on at Dee Park! Throughout the year, we host a variety of seasonal activities that celebrate the changing seasons and bring the community together.
From hands-on workshops to family-friendly events, our programmes offer something for everyone to enjoy and learn from. Recently, we’ve hosted willow weaving workshops where families and schools learned the art of willow weaving and helped create two willow sculptures for the park’s family trail. Wreath-making sessions gave participants the chance to craft their own festive decorations using natural materials.
Popular bat walks invited visitors to explore the park after dark, learning about the bats that call Dee Park home and listening to their calls using special detectors. We’ve also celebrated the different times of the year with seasonal events, from spooky Halloween fun to vibrant spring activities, all focused on connecting people with nature.
Outdoor movement sessions encouraged safe, mindful movement through games and engaging activities designed to build confidence and connection with the outdoors. We’ve enjoyed bird box making, nature crafts, fungi walks, skills workshops, bulb planting, and tree care — offering countless opportunities for people of all ages to get involved, learn new skills, and enjoy the natural world.

Volunteering
At Place for You, we welcome volunteers to support our team in caring for and improving the site. Volunteers get involved in a variety of tasks including general maintenance, wildlife surveying, and helping out at events and workshops. Whether it’s litter picking, planting trees, recording wildlife, assisting at community events, or clearing scrub, there’s always tasks to be done.
We have a small group of regular volunteers who give their time and dedication throughout the year. We also welcome corporate volunteer groups, offering a great way for teams to connect while making a positive impact on the environment and local community.
If you’d like to get involved, either as an individual or as part of a group, please get in touch.
